  • meliflex polyolefin alloy for tubing applications

meliflex is specially formulated polyolefin alloys designed for tubing applications. meliflex features significantly lower specific gravity, low extractables, high contact and see-through clarity, excellent kink-resistance, good resilience properties, coilability and flexibility without plasticizers. meliflex is available with shore hardness from 60A to 40D.

  • meliflex polyolefin alloy for medical packaging

A cost-effective alternative to PVC packaging, meliflex offers flexibility without plasticizers, features a low heat seal temperature and is sterilizable by steam at 121°C, ethylene oxide, gamma, and E-beam methodologies. It displays exceptional contact and see-through clarity, low temperature impact resistance and together with its good vapor barrier properties and strength it allows for down gauging. meliflex are available for mono and multilayer films produced either by blown extrusion or cast extrusion and are available with different modulus.

  • meliflex HF-weldable polyolefin alloy for medical devices

meliflex combines high frequency weldability with a significantly lower specific gravity, allowing down gauging and improved processing relative to PVC. meliflex welds comparably to PVC, on existing HF equipment. It also is fully sterilizable by EtO, gamma and E-beam technologies. It features low extractables, high contact and see-through clarity, and excellent vapor barrier properties.

  • meliflex polyolefin alloy for injection molding applications

meliflex is specially designed polyolefin alloys for molding applications. meliflex features a significantly lower specific gravity, low extractables, high contact and see-through clarity and flexibility without plasticizers. meliflex MG is available with shore hardness from 50A to 60D.

  • meliflex polyolefin alloy for BFS and blow molding applications

meliflex is specially designed polyolefin alloys for blow molding applications. meliflex features flexibility without plasticizers and is sterilizable by steam at 121°C, EtO, gamma, and E-beam methodologies. It displays exceptional contact and see-through clarity, low temperature impact resistance and has very good vapor barrier properties.

In view of the unique requirements of the medical packaging and device industry, custom meliflex specialty polyolefins are often designed specifically to meet individual customer and/or application requirements.

The by-products of meliflex after incineration are carbon dioxide and water. meliflex complies with all USP Class VI and Food and Drug Administration food additive regulations. Individual applicants for NDA or 510K filings must assure compatibility in their intended application

Development
  meliflex development

meliflex is a customer designed material based on a close dialog with our customers and understanding application and regulatory requirements. The development work is conducted on our pilot line in our development and process laboratory.

In addition to our product development, we conduct research which explores new product and process technologies for future innovation.

Production

Production of meliflex polyolefin alloys

meliflex is produced in a controlled environment and under good manufacturing practice, hence meliflex alloys are produced, tested and delivered under strict quality standards and in accordance with our customers’ specific requirements. meliflex comply with USP Class VI, FDA and European Pharmacopoeia additive regulations.

MELITEK operates one of the largest compounding lines in a controlled environment. For many applications in the medical industry such as the manufacture of film, tubing and devices, high performance properties can be engineered into the compound within a clean environment not available to most other suppliers.
